- Submit Your Declaration of Intent – In Georgia, the parent or legal guardian needs to file a Declaration of Intent with the Georgia Department of Education for each homeschool year. This form must be submitted to the Georgia Department of Education within 30 days after establishment of a home study program and by September 1 annually thereafter. - Teach 5 Required Subjects – All homeschool programs in Georgia must include an academic educational program which includes, but is not limited to the following 5 Subjects: Reading, Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science. - Teach 180 Days – For every year that you homeschool in Georgia, you are required to include 180 days of school. Each school day must consist of at least 4.5 hours.
