Learning to add end punctuation is one of the first steps toward writing clear, confident sentences, and this add end punctuation worksheet gives second graders focused practice with the period, the question mark, and the exclamation point. Students read a sentence, decide whether it tells, asks, or exclaims, and then choose the mark that matches. That small decision is the same one strong writers make on every line they write.
This 2nd grade punctuation worksheet has two parts. In Part A, six sentences are missing their end mark, and students write the correct one in the box at the end of each line. In Part B, students write three sentences of their own, one telling, one asking, and one exclaiming, so they move from recognizing punctuation to actually using it. A complete answer key is included on the last page, so the sheet works just as well for independent practice as it does for a guided lesson.
