Description
Building holiday vocabulary is one of the easiest ways to grow a reader’s word bank, and this Easter Word Search Worksheet turns that work into a puzzle third graders actually want to finish. Twelve Easter words — basket, bonnet, bunny, chick, chocolate, decorate, eggs, grass, jellybean, spring, Sunday and tulips — are hidden across, down, backwards and diagonally in a 13 by 13 letter grid, so students have to scan letter by letter instead of skimming. That careful visual tracking is the same skill that supports accurate decoding and spelling all year long.
This Easter Word Search Worksheet has two parts. In Part A, students hunt for and circle each word from the word bank inside the puzzle grid. In Part B, they read five short definition clues and write the matching word from the bank on the line, which asks them to connect a word to its meaning rather than simply recognize its shape. Use it as a spring morning warm-up, an early-finisher activity, a literacy center rotation, or a calm-down page for the week before an Easter party.
