This Idaho word search worksheet takes students on a quick tour of the Gem State. Learning a state’s capital, symbols, crops and rivers helps children connect a shape on the map to real places, plants and people, and a word search makes those new names stick through careful looking and repeated reading.
Students begin by finding and circling six Idaho words hidden across, down and on the diagonal in an 11×11 letter grid. Then they read six short clues about the state and write the matching word from the box on each line. The page works well as a social studies center, a morning warm-up, or a homework page during a unit on the United States.
