The Magic Wand Collection Reading Comprehension Worksheet gives fourth graders a high-interest informational passage about the trick wands that stage magicians use. Students learn that none of these tricks are real magic: every wand is a clever prop built with hollow tubes, springs, rubber, or paper, and every trick depends on practice. Reading about how things work builds the skills students need to find key details, follow a process, and name the main idea of a nonfiction text.
The two-page passage explains misdirection and sleight of hand, then walks through the solid wand, the vanishing wand, the flower wand, the color-changing wand, and the funny breakaway wand. On the question page, students answer four multiple-choice questions drawn from both pages and write a two-part constructed response that explains how two of the wands work. Use it for guided reading, test prep, a literacy center, or homework.
