Description
Massachusetts is a small New England state packed with big history, from the Pilgrims at Plymouth to the busy city of Boston. This Massachusetts word search worksheet helps 3rd grade students learn six key facts about the Bay State while they build spelling and reading skills. Kids hunt for state words in a letter grid, then use the same words to finish sentences about the state.
In Part A, students find and circle six words from the word box: Boston, Charles, cod, cranberry, elm and Plymouth. The words run across, down and on a diagonal in an 11 by 11 puzzle. In Part B, students read six short sentences about the state capital, the state fish, the state tree, a famous river, a famous rock and the state berry, and write the matching word from the box on each line. A picture of the Mayflower ship sits beside the puzzle, and the answer key shows every circled word and every completed sentence.
