This Missouri Word Search Worksheet turns a classic puzzle into a short social studies lesson about the Show Me State. Word searches ask children to scan carefully, hold a spelling in mind, and match letter patterns left to right and on a slant, which is real reading practice dressed up as a game. Pairing that scanning work with true Missouri facts means students meet state vocabulary twice: once as a shape in the letter grid, and again as an idea in a sentence they have to finish.
The sheet is built in two parts so the puzzle leads into thinking. In Part A, students find and circle six Missouri words hidden in an eleven by eleven letter grid. In Part B, they read six short clues and write the matching box word on the line. The six words are bluebird, dogwood, Gateway, Mississippi, Ozarks, and walnut, and each clue points to a different category, so every item has exactly one correct answer. Print it for morning work, a states unit, a center, or homework, and use the answer key to check in seconds.
