How to teach Number Lines
In this 1.OA.6 First Grade Common Core Lesson, students will practice counting on up to 10 using a number line.
Number lines are a helpful and easy strategy for students to use as they solve equations. This lesson can be used in a small group, math center, partner practice or as a whole group lesson.
First, find the number that you are counting on from on the number line. Then, hop forward the number that you are adding. Finally, write the number you have landed in the box. Continue your practice with counting on using the worksheets individually or with a partner.
