How to teach Dividing
In this 3.OA.2 Third Grade Common Core Lesson, students interpret quotients in multiple ways by matching equations to picture cards.
This lesson builds a foundation for students on how division works. This lesson is perfect for small group, math centers or independent practice.
First, count how many total objects are on the activity card. Then, count how many groups are shown on the activity card. Next, match the picture cards to the equation cards. Finally, continue practicing solving division problems using the provided worksheets individually or with a partner. In addition to the lesson, there are more equation cards to continue your division practice.
