Description
A pronoun is a small word, like he, she, it, or they, that takes the place of a noun. This circle and write pronouns worksheet helps 1st grade students find each pronoun in a sentence and figure out which noun it stands for, a key step in reading with understanding.
Each of the five items has two short sentences. The first sentence names a person, animal, or thing, and the second sentence uses one pronoun to talk about it. Students circle the pronoun in the second sentence and then write the noun it replaces on the line. The pronoun sits in a different place in each sentence, so students must read carefully to find it. This 1st grade pronoun worksheet is a quick, focused grammar practice page.
