Using this Dear Valentine Activity, students practice writing names of family and friends by writing Valentines Day cards.
Being able to spell your family members and friends’ names is a life skill for your students. This activity helps your students practice that while spreading a little love!
Practice spelling and writing the names of family and people by writing them a card for Valentine’s Day!Choose a word card and write a Valentine to that person. Words include: family members, friends, and people that work in your school building. There are blank word cards provided to customize words and names to fit your needs!

If you are using this activity, your students are probably learning about spelling.
Use this Family Tree Worksheet as an additional resource for your students.
Introduce this activity by asking students about members of their family. Ask students to spell general names like Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, etc by breaking down the word and using letter tiles to spell. Then, students complete activity independently or with a partner. Once finished, have students share about the members of their family.
