Learning About the State of Utah
Every state has symbols that tell its story, and Utah’s are full of color, from golden topaz to the quaking aspen. This Utah word search worksheet helps 3rd grade students learn six Utah state facts while they build vocabulary, spelling and visual scanning skills.
How to Use This Worksheet
In Part A, students find and circle the six words from the word box (aspen, Beehive, cherry, copper, gull and topaz) hidden across, down and diagonally in an 11 by 11 letter grid. In Part B, they read six short clues about Utah’s state tree, fruit, gem, nickname, bird and mineral, and write the matching word from the box on each line. Students must read each clue carefully, because every word is used exactly once. The answer key on page two shows every circled word and each correct Part B answer, so checking work is quick.
