Being able to find similarities between shapes will help your students when they begin to classify shapes. This lesson gives your students practice with naming and sorting shapes.
Students analyze and compare two- and three-dimensional shapes. Then, discuss which shape the object represents. Finally, sort the shapes into similar groups.

Finally, challenge students to sort objects in the classroom into the provided categories.
