In this Knowing Inches Worksheet, students convert inches into different units and estimate objects lengths to build their measurement skills.
Being able to know how many inches long an object is helps your students to estimate lengths. This worksheet gives your students practice measuring to the nearest inch.

You may introduce the worksheet by leading a discussion about how long an inch is. Next, create an anchor chart with objects that are 1 inch, 2 inches, etc long. Then, students work independently or with a partner. As students measure, make sure to monitor and ask questions so that measurements are correct. Once finished, have students practice estimating the length of objects in the classroom.
