Description
New Jersey is a small state on the East Coast with sandy beaches, busy farms, and a capital city on the Delaware River. This new jersey word search worksheet helps 3rd grade students learn six key New Jersey words, then use them to complete real facts about the Garden State.
In Part A, students find and circle six words from the word box in an 11 by 11 letter puzzle. The words run across, down, and on a diagonal. In Part B, students read six short clues and write the New Jersey word from the box that completes each one, such as the state capital, the state bird, and the state nickname. Because the clues depend on the facts and not on the puzzle, students must read carefully and think about what each word means. This 3rd grade states worksheet works well for a state study unit, a social studies center, or homework.
