Do You Want to Build a Snowman Contractions Activity

How to teach Contractions

Using Do You Want to Build a Snowman Contractions Activity, students create contractions by creating a snowman with the two word phrase and then contraction.

Being able to read and write using contractions is an important skill for your students to learn. This activity gives your students practice figuring out what words contractions stand for.

Place the blank snowman page in front of you. Use this page to build your contraction snowman. Read through the word cards and decide which two words can be put together to make a contraction. Build the head and body of the snowman with these words and then find the matching contraction to complete the snowman. After building 10 contraction snowmen, complete the worksheets provided.
