Description
Telling a fact from an opinion is one of the most useful reading skills a child can learn. A fact can be checked and proven true, while an opinion tells how someone thinks or feels. This Write Fact Opinion Worksheet gives students practice spotting the difference and then writing their own examples of each.
Students first read eight short sentences about drums, rainy days, pets, lemons, snow, spiders and lunch, and fill in the bubble that shows whether each one is a fact or an opinion. Next they look at a picture of a basket of red and green apples, write one fact and one opinion about it, and explain how they know their opinion is not a fact. Print it for class work, a reading center, homework or a quick check after a lesson.
