How to teach Number Patterns
In this 3.OA.9 Third Grade Common Core Lesson, students identify and describe number patterns by matching patterns and description cards.
Identifying number patterns will help your students look for examples that as they solve. This lesson will help your students look for examples.
First, decide if the pattern is increasing (getting bigger) or decreasing (getting smaller). Then, match the number pattern card to the description. Finally, solve the problems on the activity sheet. Challenge yourself with the additional activity by finding a pattern with odd and even factors.
