Description
Learning a state means learning the things that make it that state, and this Arkansas Word Search Worksheet turns six of them into a puzzle a third grader will actually want to finish. The Natural State has a gem you can dig for yourself, mountains in the north, rice fields in the east, and a bird that borrows every song it hears. Hunting those words letter by letter makes them stick in a way a list never does.
The page works in two parts. Part A is an eleven-by-eleven letter grid holding all six word-box words, hidden across, down, and on a diagonal, so students have to scan in every direction. Part B turns the same six words into clue sentences: each one describes a real Arkansas fact and the student writes the matching word on the line. Because the box words are scrambled against the clue order, a child cannot pair them off top to bottom and has to read every sentence. A full answer key on page two shows the circled puzzle words and every completed sentence.
