How to teach Author and Illustrator
Using Author and Illustrator Activity, studentsname the author and illustrator of a text and define the role of each in presenting the ideas or information in a text.
Many people are involved in the creation of a book. This activity exposes your students to authors and illustrator of their favorite books.
In small groups, gather a small selection of books. Each student chooses a Role Card. The student with the Leader Card chooses a book from the pile. Then, the Leader picks students one by one as they name the Author or Illustrator, or discuss the Role of the Author or Illustrator for the chosen book.

Introduce this activity by looking at a cover of a book and asking about who the names on the front of the book belong to. Next, have students explain what authors and illustrators do.Then, students complete the activity individually or with a partner. Finally, students share about the authors and illustrators they learned about.
