Using Finding the Author and Illustrator Activity, students define the role of an author and illustrator using the definition cards.
The creation of books involve many people. This activity exposes your students to authors and illustrator of their favorite books.
Students identify where the information can be found on a book cover. Then, practice finding and writing the title of a book, the author, and the illustrator by using a variety of books.

Introduce this activity by looking at a cover of a book and asking about who the names on the front of the book belong to. Finally, students share about the authors and illustrators they learned about. Once finished, students continue their practice using other books in the library.
