About this resource

Description

Learning to name the parts of the body is one of the very first science skills a young child masters, and this Body Parts Worksheet gives first graders a clear, picture-based way to practice it. Each card shows a friendly illustration of one part — a nose, a hand, an ear, a mouth, a foot, or an eye — and the child finds the matching word in the word bank and writes it on the line below. Pairing a picture with a word a child can already read turns science vocabulary into reading and handwriting practice at the same time.

This printable body parts worksheet is built in two parts, so it works as a lesson and as a quick check. Part A is the picture-and-word-bank section: six illustrated cards, six words, and a wide writing line under every picture. Part B moves from naming to reasoning, asking which part you use to hear and which part you use to smell, answered by filling in a bubble. Print one copy per student, read the word bank aloud together, then let children work independently. The included answer key makes grading immediate.

What’s Included

  • One printable Body Parts Worksheet in PDF format
  • Part A: six illustrated body part cards with a six-word word bank
  • Part B: two fill-in-the-bubble questions about what each part does
  • A complete answer key on the final page
  • Built for 1st Grade science, anatomy, and life science

There are three reasons this first grade anatomy worksheet helps children. It builds science vocabulary they use every day, from doctor visits to gym class. It strengthens spelling and handwriting, because every answer is copied from a word bank rather than guessed at. And it moves children past labeling and into function, which is the first step toward understanding how the human body works together.

Teachers and parents can extend the activity in a few minutes. Play a quick “point to your…” game before handing out the page, sing a body parts song together, or have children draw a self-portrait on the back and label three more parts. In small groups, ask each child to name one thing they do with every part on the sheet.
