Reading a monthly calendar is one of the most practical math skills a third grader can build, and this calendar math worksheet turns that everyday tool into real problem solving. Students learn to find a date, name the day of the week it falls on, count the days between two events, and think about a month in weeks and leftover days. Those are the same calendar and elapsed-time ideas that show up in 3.MD.A.1, and they are also the skills a child uses to plan a project, count down to a trip, or figure out how long until a game. This 3rd grade calendars worksheet gives students a full month of March with five school events already marked on it: Library Day, a Class Trip, the Book Fair, a Soccer Game, and the Art Show. Part A asks five read-the-calendar questions that build confidence with the grid itself. Part B then raises the demand with four multi-step word problems that require counting forward, counting backward, and converting days into weeks and days.
