California Worksheet

Learning about the fifty states begins with getting to know one state really well. Students who can name a state’s capital, its symbols, its neighbors, and the year it joined the country have a framework they can reuse for every other state they study. This California worksheet gives fourth graders that framework for the Golden State, pairing a short reference panel of verified facts with questions that ask students to read carefully, compare, and explain.

This printable 4th grade states worksheet opens with a California Fact File listing the capital, nickname, statehood year, bordering states, state bird, state flower, largest city, and the ocean along its coast.
