Description
Prepositions are the small words that tell where something is, and this circle and draw prepositions worksheet helps second graders find them and picture what they mean. Words like under, on, behind, and above connect a noun to the rest of a sentence and show its position. When children can spot a preposition and then draw the scene it describes, they prove they understand how the word changes the meaning of the whole sentence.
The page has six friendly cards. Each card holds one simple sentence with exactly one preposition, plus a roomy space below it for drawing. Students read the sentence, circle the word that tells where, and then draw a picture that shows the cat under the bed or the stars above the barn. The answer key on page two shows each preposition circled, so checking the work takes only a moment. Use it for independent practice, a small group lesson, or a quick check after teaching position words.

For extra practice, have children write a new sentence using a preposition from the sheet and draw it on the back.
