Pronouns are the small words that stand in for people, places, and things a sentence has already named, and using them well is one of the first big steps toward writing that flows. This Writing Personal Pronouns Worksheet gives students focused practice replacing a common or proper noun with the personal pronoun that matches it. Second graders learn that he, she, it, we, and they stand in for subjects, while her and other object forms follow an action word or a preposition. Choosing the right one means paying attention to who is doing something and who is receiving it.
This Writing Personal Pronouns Worksheet is a single-page activity with a word box of six personal pronouns at the top. Students read six sentences, each with a noun or noun phrase underlined, then write the one pronoun from the box that takes its place on the solid line below.
