Using Comparing Texts Activity, studentsidentify basic similarities and differences between two texts on the same topic.
Making connections as they read will help your students understand what they are reading better. This activity guides your students through making connections as they read independently.
Students read two books about the same topic.Next, match the compare & contrast cards to their definitions. Then, students will compare and contrast important points in two texts using the graphic organizer.

Use this Compare and Contrast Graphic Organizer as an additional resource for your students.
Introduce this activity by showing a picture of two kids. Next, students share ideas how the kids are the same and different. Then, students read independently or with a partner using the graphic organizer. Finally, students share what they have read about. Once finished, students write more in order to compare and contrast the two books.
