About this resource

Description

How to teach about the Inventor of Nachos

This Ignacio Anaya Garcia Inventor of Nachos Worksheet will help your students understand and appreciate where the favorite food Nachos came from.

Garcia created the delicious dish in back in 1943 while working as Matre d’ at a popular restaurant in the border town of Piedras Negras, Coahuila. A group of women who were stationed at a nearby air base stopped in to grab something to eat. Garcia couldn’t find a chef, so he created a dish he named Nachos especiales. The women loved it and the rest is history!

Have your students color the Nachos coloring page. Then, have them write whether or not they love nachos and explain why or why not. Your students will have fun thinking about nachos and talking about who invented nachos. As an extension activity, have your students draw a picture of a food dish that they would want to invent on the back of the worksheet. Your kids will have so much fun designing a new food dish that they think everyone would love.
