How to teach Classification
Using thisLand, Water, or Air Classifying Transportation Worksheet, students sort vehicles into three categories basedon where it can most likely be found.
Being able to classify objects helps students to find groupings within objects. It helps their brain organize objects.
Students look at the words. Next, ask yourself “Where does this vehicle move?”. Then, think about each vehicle’s location. Finally, cut out the pictures and glue them into the proper columns below.

Once students are finished, challenge students to add more objects to each category.
