How to teach Arrays
Using this Sharing Chocolate Rows and Columns Activity, students partition a rectangle into rows and columns of same-size squares and count to find the total number of them.
This activity will give students a first look at fractions. They will split shapes into equal parts and then label the given fraction as halves, thirds, or quarters.
Students will roll the die and then split the chocolate bar into that number of equal pieces. For additional practice, students can start with one die and then, use two dice. After the activity, students can use the activity page to continue practicing!
