How to teach Inequalities
Using this St. Patrick’s Day Greater Than or Less Than Inequalities Activity, students sort sums into categories based on if it is greater than, less than, or equal to 50.
This activity is an introduction to inequalities. Your students will build their understanding of greater than, less than, and equal to in order to start using inequality symbols.
Sort the number cards by greater than 50 or less than 50. Then, place the number cards on the board to show greater than and less than.

Finally, students create their own examples of add to the categories.
