Description
This Rounding to Hundred Millions Worksheet gives 5th Grade students focused practice rounding nine-digit whole numbers to the nearest hundred-millions place. Rounding a number that large asks a student to do two things at once: find the hundred-millions digit, and then look at the digit just to its right to decide whether that place stays the same or climbs by one. The six numbers on this page are chosen so that students meet all three cases, including a number that sits exactly on the halfway point and must round up.
Part A is a card grid. Each card shows one number and one printed answer box, so students write only the rounded number and nothing else. Part B moves the same skill into two story problems that take more than one step. In the first, students round two yearly download totals and then decide which rounded total is greater. In the second, they round two visitor counts and add the rounded numbers together.
