Sorting the planets is one of the first real classification tasks a third grader meets in science, and this solar system sort worksheet turns it into a clear, printable activity. Students read a word box of all eight planets and decide whether each one belongs with the inner planets or the outer planets, then use a set of clues to name other objects that share our solar system. Because every planet has exactly one correct column, the sorting is honest practice in reading, remembering, and reasoning rather than guesswork.
This solar system sort worksheet is ready to print and hand out. The first section gives students a tinted word box and a two-column chart with roomy handwriting lines, so there is plenty of space to write each planet neatly.
