Column addition is where second graders first put place value to work, and this Two Digit Addition No Regrouping Worksheet keeps that first step clean. Every problem on the page is built so the ones column and the tens column each add to nine or less, which means a child never has to carry. That is deliberate: before a student can regroup confidently, they need to see that a two-digit number is really a tens digit and a ones digit, and that each column is added on its own. Taking carrying off the table lets all of their attention go to lining the digits up and adding place by place.
This 2nd grade addition worksheet has two parts.
