Description
Volume is the number of unit cubes that fit inside a solid, and this volume of shapes worksheet gives fifth graders three clean ways to practice finding it. Every figure on the page is a right rectangular prism with its three edge lengths labeled, so students can apply V = l x w x h directly, write the product, and finish the answer with the correct cubic unit. Working in centimeters, inches, and feet on the same page keeps the unit from becoming an afterthought.
The page builds from straightforward to backward thinking. Part A shows three labeled prisms and asks for the volume of each. Part B turns the work around: the volume is given along with two edge lengths, and students divide to find the edge that is missing.
