How to teach Informational Writing

Using Write about Bugs Activity, studentswrite informative texts in which they introduce a topic, use facts and definitions to develop points, and provide a concluding statement or section.

Informational writing is one of the topic types of writing your students will have to do in high school and college. They will have to research and present the information that they found. This activity will help guide students’ writing to create powerful and informational writing pieces.

Students will use the graphic organizer to write an informative or explanatory text about a chosen topic. Then, students will then publish their work using the template.
