This 5 Flavors Reading Comprehension Worksheet gives fifth graders a full narrative passage and a set of text-based questions that ask them to read closely for meaning. Reading comprehension is the skill that turns decoding into understanding. A student has to hold the events of a story in mind, work out what an unfamiliar word means from the sentence around it, and explain how a character changes using evidence from the text. In this 5 Flavors Reading Comprehension Worksheet, students read a two-page story about Jessica and Vivian, two friends who spend a rainy Saturday testing the five basic tastes at a kitchen counter.
