Adding is the first operation young learners meet, and it begins long before numerals do — with objects a child can see, point at, and count. This Adding Using Pictures Worksheet builds that bridge. Every problem shows two groups of friendly pictures, and the student counts one group, counts the other, then counts them all together to find the total. Working this way turns an abstract symbol into something concrete, so addition starts as a story about real things instead of a rule to memorize.
