The books my students are reading worksheet is a one-page class record that helps teachers track independent reading across genres. Reading many kinds of books builds strong readers, and a simple record shows at a glance which students are branching out and which ones need a nudge toward something new.
About the Worksheet
This teacher form holds up to 18 students. Write each student’s name in the first column, then record the date in the matching box whenever a student reads a book at grade level in one of five genres: fantasy, mystery, folktale, nonfiction and poetry. A short line in every box keeps dates neat, and the Teacher, Class and School Year lines at the top keep each copy organized. Read across a row to see one child’s reading, or down a column to see how the whole class is doing with a genre.
