This factor flowers worksheet gives 4th graders a bright, hands-on way to practice finding every factor of a whole number. A factor is a number that divides another number with nothing left over, and factors always come in pairs that multiply to make the number. Knowing factor pairs helps students with multiplication, division, fractions and simplifying later on.
On this factor flowers worksheet, each flower has a number in its center, and every number has exactly eight factors. Students write one factor on each petal, then list the four factor pairs on the lines beside the flower. A word problem about planting tulips in equal rows asks students to use factors to find every way to plant a garden and explain how they know.
