Sight words are the small, common words children see in almost every book, and many of them cannot be sounded out easily. This kindergarten sight words o to s worksheet helps young readers learn six Dolch primer words by heart: our, please, ran, ride, saw, and say. Knowing these words on sight lets children read simple sentences smoothly instead of stopping on every word.
Each word sits in its own card. First, children read the word printed in clear, bold letters. Next, they trace the same word in dotted handwriting letters on a solid line. Last, they write the word on their own on the line below. The large letters and roomy writing lines are sized for kindergarten hands, and two of the words, please and say, show how letters like p and y drop below the line.
