In this 5.NBT.1 Fifth Grade Common Core Lesson, students recognize that in a multi-digit number, a digit in one place represents 10 times as muchto its right and 1/10 to its left.
If your students know how place values are connected, they will be able to easily solve when multiplying and dividing by 10. This lesson is perfect for small group, math centers or independent practice.
First, choose five task cards. Then, solve the problem on your worksheet. Finally, continue your practice with the provided worksheets independently or with a partner.
