About This Worksheet
Part A sets six two-digit sums in tall, clearly spaced cards, each addend printed on its own place-value grid so the ones sit under the ones and the tens under the tens. Every problem regroups, and the size of the ones sum changes from card to card, so students meet a carry of one ten after totals of 10, 12, 13, 14 and 16 rather than drilling the same pair over and over. Part B turns the procedure into two short word problems about kites and game tickets, each with its own answer line and unit label, so students have to decide what to add before they can add it. A complete answer key on page two shows every sum in place.
