Description
Adding ten or a hundred to a three-digit number is one of the first times a second grader gets to add without counting, and it is a turning point. Once a child sees that 342 and 100 more is 442 because only the hundreds digit changes, place value stops being a chart on the wall and becomes a tool. This mentally adding 10 or 100 worksheet gives students focused practice with numbers between 100 and 900 so they can build that automatic, in-your-head fluency that later work on regrouping, estimating, and multi-digit addition depends on.
