How to teach Reading Comprhension of Informational Texts
Using this Organize Your Thinking Informational Text Activity, students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their comprehension of informational texts by organizing their thoughts and understandings.
Your students already know a lot of information on topics that you have learned in school. This activity will help them to better comprehend and organize their thoughts and understandings when reading informational texts.
Give students an informational text related to a topic you are discussing about History, Social Studies, Technology, Science, or any other informational topic. Have students take notes on the appropriate graphic organizer while reading. Then, have students discuss their understandings in a small group.
