This Picnic Time Reading Comprehension Worksheet builds that habit with a short, ordinary story a child recognizes right away — a family packing a basket, walking to the park, spreading a blanket, eating, playing, and heading home. Familiar events free the reader to concentrate on the thinking, which is exactly where comprehension is learned.
