Prepositions Positions Worksheet

This prepositions positions worksheet gives first grade students a picture-first way to practice the small words that tell us where something is. Position words like on, in, under, beside, and between do a lot of work in everyday sentences, and children use them long before they can name them. This prepositions positions worksheet turns that everyday knowledge into something a student can see, say, and then write down.

The page is built around one red ball and five familiar objects. In each item, students look at a picture of the ball and an object, decide where the ball is, and write the matching word from the word bank on the line. The pictures are drawn so that only one position word fits: the ball rests on top of a box, sits down inside a basket, lies on the floor under a table, waits on the ground beside a chair, and stands in the gap between two books.
