Description
Sight is the sense children lean on most, and it is the one they are least likely to notice using. This senses sight worksheet slows that down for kindergarten students: it asks them to decide which everyday objects actually help their eyes do their job, and then to use their eyes on a job of their own. Sorting a magnifying glass from a drum forces the question a five-year-old rarely asks out loud – which body part am I using right now, and what is it telling me?
The page holds two short parts. In Part A, nine crayon-style pictures are spread over three rows, and the child circles the three that help the eyes see: a pair of eyeglasses, a pair of binoculars, and a magnifying glass. Every other picture belongs to a different sense, so each one has a single defensible answer – a drum and a bell are for hearing, an apple and a lemon for taste, a flower for smell, a feather for touch. In Part B, four outlined shapes give the eyes something to report on, and the child colors each one. Print the page, hand it out with crayons, and let students work down the sheet.

Three Reasons This Helps Kids
- It names the sense instead of assuming it. Deciding whether an object helps the eyes makes a child notice the eyes themselves, which is the whole point of a five-senses unit.
- It separates the senses cleanly. Every wrong picture belongs to hearing, taste, smell or touch, so the sheet quietly teaches all five while asking about only one.
- It puts sight to work. Coloring shapes turns the lesson into the thing it describes – the eyes reporting color and shape – rather than a fact to memorize.
Ideas for Teachers and Parents
Before students pick up a crayon, ask them to cover their eyes and name what they can still find out about the room; the list is short, and it makes sight concrete. After the circling, hold up a real pair of binoculars or a magnifying glass and let each child look through it. This kindergarten five senses worksheet also pairs well with a walk outside: bring the page, and ask children to name one thing they could only have learned with their eyes.
