Reading fluency starts long before a child reads a whole book. It starts with reading one short sentence, all the way to the end, and knowing what it says. The Simple Sentences Practice Worksheet gives kindergarten readers exactly that kind of practice, with a picture beside every sentence so a new reader always has a way to check. Each item shows a picture and two sentences that look almost the same, and only one of them tells the truth about the picture. That tiny difference is what makes this simple sentences practice worksheet real reading instead of guessing.
Look at the picture, read both sentences all the way through, and circle the one that goes with it. A reader who stops halfway will pick cap instead of car, or kitten instead of kite, so the page quietly rewards reading every word.
