Thanksgiving is a great time to help students learn the real history behind the holiday. This Thanksgiving True or False Worksheet asks third graders to read short sentences about the Pilgrims, the Mayflower, the Wampanoag and the first harvest feast, and decide whether each one is true or false. It turns a favorite holiday into careful reading and fact checking.
Students read eight sentences and fill in the True or False bubble for each one. Some facts are correct, and some have one detail that is wrong, like the ocean the Mayflower crossed or the month we celebrate. Then students pick a false sentence and rewrite it so that it gives the correct fact.
